Maison Tranquille keychain
A home. Peace and quiet. The keys are here. For once.
A keychain designed and made in Paris for home lovers, gently closed doors and the delicious pleasure of having absolutely nothing planned.
Home Seeks Peace and Quiet
No phone. No meeting. No “could you just…”.
A home, a sofa, a cup of something warm, a closed door and a little peace.
MAISON TRANQUILLE.
A Peaceful Home. I don't know whether these two words planned to meet, but once they found themselves side by side, they clearly wanted to be left alone.
I had photographed them separately in Paris. Like many of the words in this collection, they come from façades, storefronts, signs and inscriptions discovered while walking through the city. I photograph these small details because they tell a different story of Paris. They are modest, sometimes almost invisible, but they are part of what gives the city its character.
Over time, all these words have formed my photographic alphabet. Then I rearrange them. I give them new neighbors. I take them away from their original sentences. And sometimes, they immediately find the place where they belong.
Keys to Your Refuge
The Maison Tranquille keychain had an obvious calling: house keys. It makes a set easier to recognize, can also be attached to a bag or pouch, and quietly reminds us that having somewhere to close the door behind us is already a small luxury.
The words were photographed in Paris, the composition was created here, and the keychain itself is made in Paris. A small Parisian story that ends, quite naturally, at the end of your keys.
Give it for a new apartment, a new house, a housewarming, or to someone who has perfected the art of planning absolutely nothing on a Sunday. For someone who enjoys going out, certainly, but also very much enjoys coming home.
Maison Tranquille.
The keys are here. So is the sofa.
Everything should be fine.
