Paris Retro Flap Pouch – Au Petit Fer à Cheval

Push the door open…

Some places you simply walk past. Others make you stop.

Au Petit Fer à Cheval is one of those places. A green façade, tiny tables gathered on the pavement, classic bistro chairs and Paris carrying on with its day all around them. I photographed it because I love places that seem to have always been there, quietly belonging to the city.

For this flap pouch, I wanted to take the story a little further. The façade appears on the outside. Lift the flap and this time you step inside. The bar appears, along with the lights, mirrors, clock and that unmistakable Paris café atmosphere.

A little pouch for a cheerful collection of things

At 19.5 × 19.5 cm, this square pouch is designed for all the little things you like to keep close but would rather not spend ten minutes looking for.

Cables, chargers, earphones, make-up, pencils, a small notebook, glasses, papers or travel accessories: everyone can decide what belongs inside.

Today cables. Tomorrow treasures.

It slips easily into a handbag or tote and keeps small essentials together while adding an unexpected image of Paris to everyday life.

Paris outside, Paris inside

That is what I particularly like about this collection: the flap becomes a door.

Closed, the pouch tells the story of a Paris storefront. Open it and you discover what lies behind it. Two original photographs of the same place meet on one object, turning a practical accessory into a small piece of Paris.

The original photographs are printed on recycled polyester fabric, and the pouch is made in France in small batches.

A way of taking a Paris café with you — without having to carry the tables, chairs and waiter.
