Paris Retro Flap Pouch – Books, Le Pont Traversé
An extraordinary blue storefront, a few golden letters and, behind the flap, books from floor to ceiling.
The Le Pont Traversé pouch hides an entire Paris bookstore within its 19.5 × 19.5 cm format.
A multi-purpose pouch for glasses, notebooks and small treasures, created from original Paris photography and made in France.
Once upon a time, there was a blue bookstore.
Blue. Very blue.
Blue woodwork, blue around the door, blue around the windows, with a few golden letters simply announcing: LIVRES — BOOKS.
It is difficult to walk past Le Pont Traversé without slowing down.
This old Paris storefront has everything I love to photograph: colour with a personality of its own, decorative details, traces of time and the feeling that another story is waiting just behind the door.
So let’s open it.
Behind the blue: books
Lift the flap and the storefront disappears.
In its place: books.
Rows of books, piles of books, old books, newer books, shelves filled right to the top and even a ladder to reach those that have decided to live near the ceiling.
Suddenly you understand why the storefront needed only one word.
BOOKS.
Enough said.
At 19.5 × 19.5 cm, the pouch can hold glasses, a notebook, pencils, earphones, cables, a charger, papers and small accessories.
The original Maron Bouillie photographs are printed on recycled polyester fabric, and the pouch is made in France in small batches.
A little piece of a Paris bookstore to carry with you.
No ladder required.
