That is more than enough to understand that anyone who loves thread, ribbon and tiny treasures may be staying for a while.

This Belleville haberdashery is exactly the kind of shop I love to photograph. A storefront with no intention of being discreet, a window packed with things and a glorious shade of purple that seems determined to join in the show.

But that is only the beginning.

Ribbons, buttons, threads… and a little joyful chaos

Under the flap, the shop unfolds.

Compartments filled with ribbons. Folded fabrics. Threads in every colour. Buttons, trimmings and spools.

Red, pink, blue, green, yellow, orange…

You could almost choose your sewing supplies directly from the pouch.

Almost.

At 19.5 × 19.5 cm, it is naturally perfect for sewing and craft essentials, but it is just as happy holding cables, chargers, earphones, make-up, pencils, a notebook or small travel accessories.

Today, sewing supplies.

Tomorrow, organised chaos.

After that, we’ll see.

The original Maron Bouillie photographs are printed on recycled polyester fabric. The pouch is made in France in small batches.
