It’s the start of another school year : six tales to learn and have fun.
Yellow and black, it’s stocktaking time : a pair of scissors, and there, a mark on graduated paper, lines with a ruler, metallic clips for mathematics, rubber bands on demand. Black square, yellow pencils, grey rectangles, they all mingle.
What are these strange and many-coloured creatures ? Scotch, the millipede sits on my pencil case, Paint the cat with whiskers looks after my school bag, Picpic the hedgehog in first year picks up paper clips, Callipers the hen pecks at the small squares.
Pink is for smart girls and little princesses. The Fall fairy has got everything ready. Magic animals are strolling around among flower-pencils, and small speckled butterflies are fluttering about my hush hush notebooks.
Now I am playing truant, I am daydreaming, and what’s before me ? A castle made out of pencils, a corrugated cardboard jungle, a clump of paper trees… With my nose in the air, pencil peels bloom in this imaginary garden.
On another planet, an orange and blue one, the multiplication factory runs at full capacity, 2 times 2 is 4, 2 times 3 is 6… a clip plus two drawing pins equals a star, a magnet multiplied by a brass-plated fastener… Hey what nonsense ! The machine is going wrong…
Feathery fowls are flying over a field of labels Red and white dots on the slate, I am sowing seeds of poetry. A hedgehog rubber takes a stroll in the moonlight. Origamis fly away in the dew of the coloured sticky label flowers. Small houses with pointed roofs are hidden in Japanese paper.
